The surf shorts are an awesome pattern for chilling at the beach, swimming, or even for a nice dinner! Though you can use any knit or woven fabrics (with a few small adjustments for woven), this pattern was designed with stretch boardshort or woven in mind. With a faux fly and working pockets, these shorts are a perfect grab for almost any occasion!
The adult version of these shorts is a little less slim fitting than the kids version. Please read through the instructions, check measurements, grade as needed and make a muslin before cutting your good fabric! Available in sizes XXS-5X based on men's size chart.

Materials:
Stretch Boardshort or Stretch Woven - my favorite fabric to use for this patternis stretch boardshort fabric (when swimming). Stretch woven works greatfor every day shorts and depending on the contents could work for swimmingas well.Another option is non stretch boardshort or regular woven but if you use nonstretch, I highly recommend adding an extra 1/4” (.6cm) to the pattern piecesand then use a 3/8” (1cm) seam allowance while sewing. See page 8 of the instructions for more details!
