A fine and exquisitely decorated Chinese Export salad bowl, with a wide gilded band around the outside rim filled with butterflies, and with a white porcelain ground below with larger and more detailed compositions of butterflies in flight. The inner rim is also decorated with a gilded band, here filled with flowers. Colors are vivid and the painting is very high quality. Very good antique condition, with light wear mainly to the gilded rim. No chips, no marks, as is to be expected of a piece of this date. Third quarter of the 19th century.
