Artist StatementI created this patch for the Spirit and Opportunity mission because I wanted to show the setting of Mars, with the color of burnt orange and I also wanted to depict faintly the presence of the two Spirit and Opportunity rovers. The name of the mission with the names of the rovers was captivating to me and it made me want to create a patch to fit the emotion of the mission. I felt like the mission had a large amount of potential and showed the world the possibilities of a space mission and the possibilities within Mars. — Lauren Wagner
